Philologyから出ているこの人の盤は十数枚ありますが、その中でも比較的新しいこの盤は、最近も「メテオール盤」などで気を吐くピアノのGiovanni Ceccarelliとのデュオ・ライブ盤。ピアノが良くないのか、いずれにしてもきれいに録れていないみたいだし、客席も騒がしいが、やはりデュオならでは合い、コンタクトだけで進行できる気軽さが伝わり、親密なやり取りが楽しめる。後ろの方に出て来るEddie WiedはCeccarelliとの共演作もある人。ここでのマッシモは余り吹きまくらずに、少し手探りで展開を探っていく感じがあり、内省的な面が覗き、興味深い。こういうのを、イタリーでライブで聴きたかったなぁ。
