| Thelonious MonkとJohn Coltraneによる歴史的カルテットがFive Spotに出演した時の録音は、存在し無いということでファンを長い期間残念がらせていました。しかし、私家録音をNaimaが保存していることが、熱心な研究家の手で伝えられ、公式に発売されることになったのが、この盤です。携帯のテレコででも録ったんでしょうか、音には一寸つらいものがあります。しかし、40年間も「With John Coltrane」というスタジオ録音で我慢してきたファンにとっては、そんなことも気にならないのかも知れません。 |
