テナーがJohn ColtraneからSonny Stittに変わる頃のライブ盤4枚組です。前半、「(CD2)1 Walkin'/ The Theme」までが、John Coltraneです。兎に角、この頃のWynton Kellyが良くって、バンドを御大の思う方向に、巧く持っていった上で、自分の良さも出しているのがエライ。同時期のパリ録音4枚組(Europe 1 710576/9)も、やはり同じ趣向の編集ですが、ファンなら両方持っていておかしくありません。何曲かは、ピアノトリオだったり、Sonny Stittのワン・ホーンだったりします
