Fred Herschがいつもの面子をそろえたトリオで、Village Vanguardに出た時のライブ盤です。リーダーさんのピアノを聴くというよりも、トリオとしての互いのやり取り、変化を聴くという盤でしょうか。それも、「これで、どうだぁ」なんて煽り合うというのではなく、「こうなんだろうか」、「こうかなぁ」、「こうでしょうね」等と、しみじみと会話する感じが、ライブ盤ではあまり聴かない雰囲気で、興味深い。
