| 録音日付が「Chet」盤と同じであり、同盤録音後にトリオだけで一枚分を余計に録音したものの、発売に踏ん切れずに20年ほど倉庫に寝かされて、「Peace Piece and Other Pieces」盤で初めて世に出たというのは、ホントウらしい。当時のMiles Davisバンドで言えば、「Jazz at the Plaza」盤と、バンドを辞めたのに急遽呼び戻されて参加した「Kind of Blue」盤の間に挟まる谷間の時期に当たります。相方が、Paul ChambersとPhilly Joe Jonesという御大バンドのリズムセクション仲間ですから、連携に不安は無く、標題曲の「On Green Dolphin Street」だって、かなりの出来です。 |
